Timing belt replacement - Engine will not lower

Currently replacing a timing belt and water pump. The T55 sprocket was taken out and the engine was raised to remove the center engine mounts and get at the belt. The sprocket needs to go back into the camshaft to align the timing marks before it can be removed, but the engine will not lower from its original resting position and the sprocket and camshaft are no longer in alignment. Any have an idea on what can be done?

Maybe I am not understanding the issue but if they are no longer in alignment then you just need to finish changing the parts that you are changing and then when you are putting the belt back on and setting the timing then you need to line the timing marks as shown below in these attachments.

Clearly it is easier if they don't move but if they do it is ok as you just need to align the again.
