The overdrive light is blinking and the car stalls

It starts right up and drives normal but then sometimes it just stalls on you, I took it to the dealership and they said that it's the shift lever detention bracket, now I have that part and don't kno how to put it on I need help

You must remove the console cover plate using care, then the rest doesn't look to bad, here is a pic
