The insurance company and the auto parts store should be able to determine what the vehicle is by the vin number. Which is a 16 digit number consisting of both numbers and letters and is located on the dash down by the windshield on the drivers side on a little metal plate, and also should be on the drivers door or door jam. Just give them that number and that will supply them with all the info they need.

I already tried that. My auto parts store doesn't have the ability to do that, and the insurance company didn't know either. I would really like to know. Apparently there are many different engines used in Ford Tempos, depending on it's model. I do know for a fact that the year mine was made (1987) was the only year they made an AWD model, but that's all I know. At the present moment I am leaning toward it being a Ford Tempo Sedan with a 1.4L 4 cylinder engine. I would like to know if I am right.
