Can you switch the rear end from a 1998 kia sport utility to a 2001 kia sportage.

We only recommend direct fit replacement parts. I will tell you this. Make sure the gear ratio is the same as the one you remove. If it is different, you will have all kinds of issues with the 4wd which will result in something breaking and most likely being really expensive to fix.

Larry, there should be a tag on the differential identifying it.
