Engine Mechanical problem
1989 Suzuki Sidekick 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

Hi. I was driving and something melted on the engine and oil began to spew out. This cable that melted is connected directly above the oil filter. Can you please tell me what this is so I can fix it.

Thank you

If it plugs into the oil sender, then if you have a pressure gauge that oil runs thru to the guage, then it's an oil line and eithe Suzuki or aftermarket parts store should have it, if you have an electrical(light) gauge, then the sender probably cracked, and pumped oil up into the wiring harness via the conuit covering the wire. Unplug it, if electrical, it will pull off, if mechanical, you need to unscrew the line. Determine which type you have then fix either the broken sender, or replace the oil line.
