Hi,

Everything works fine, I do not feel/hear anything fishy while driving, but I have a check engine light on.
I took it to the garage, they plugged in their computer and it said I have a problem with the torque solenoid within the transmission.
they advise me to repair/replace the gear fully, but the car goes smoothly. Can anyone please assist?

P.S. The same light went on half a year ago and the garage replaced the oil, the catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor and the light was off until now.

Thanks.

What the codes means is that the torque converter solenoid is stuck off so the converter isn't locking up like it should so you should be getting poor fuel mileage. There are two different codes but pretty much mean the same one for Europe/N. America and another for rest of world. Have it check to see If it's a bad solenoid or not getting power which could mean a tcm module or something else.

Thanks HMAC300
Could it actually lead to a full gear/transmission rennovation?

We don't have a info on your model as I am assuming you are out of North America. If converter clutch is still good it may be more of an electrical problem which you really need a pro model scanner to test. If not electrical it may be a bad solenoid or converter clutch.

Thanks (i'm outside of the US, Israel)
In your experience, if it's more than just a bad solenoid - can you say that based on this model (2005 jimny NOT-VVT) is it worth to repair the whole gear? Because i've heard that these gears aren't good.
Or maybe just get rid of the car?

OK. So turns out now the gear doesn't shift from 3 to 4th. Stuck on 3rd.
What does this mean?

It's in limp mode and if you didn't put stuff back together right then that is why it's doing it also check for blown fuses. It could have been going bad at beginning and now it is finally went. You might want to have a trans guy check this. Also check all your fuses under hood with a test light. You may have blown one as well
