Scraping on the back of the left front tire area rim can be caused by a few different factors. Here are some potential causes to consider:

Incorrect Wheel Offset: If the wheel offset is not compatible with your specific Ford E-Series van, it can result in the tire rubbing against the suspension components or inner wheel well, causing scraping on the rim. Ensure that the wheel offset meets the manufacturer's specifications for your vehicle.

Suspension Issues: Worn or damaged suspension components, such as control arms, ball joints, or strut mounts, can affect the wheel alignment and cause the tire to rub against the rim. Inspect the suspension components for any signs of wear, damage, or misalignment. If any issues are found, they should be addressed and repaired.

Wheel Bearing Problems: Faulty or worn wheel bearings can cause the wheel to wobble or shift, resulting in the tire scraping against the rim. A failing wheel bearing may produce abnormal noises, such as grinding or humming. Have the wheel bearings inspected and replaced if necessary.

Tire Size or Type: If the tires on your Ford E-Series van are not the correct size or type for the vehicle, they may rub against the wheel well or suspension components, leading to scraping on the rim. Ensure that the tires are the appropriate size and have the proper load rating for your specific van model.

Suspension Modifications: If any suspension modifications or aftermarket accessories have been installed, such as lift kits or larger wheels, they may impact the clearance between the tire and the wheel well. Improperly fitted modifications can cause rubbing and scraping on the rim.

Incorrect Tire Inflation: Improper tire inflation can cause the tire to bulge and come into contact with the rim. Ensure that the tires are inflated to the recommended pressure specified by the manufacturer.

It's important to address scraping on the rim promptly, as it can lead to further damage to the tire, suspension components, and even affect the vehicle's handling and safety. If you're unable to determine the exact cause or resolve the issue on your own, it's recommended to consult a professional mechanic or a Ford dealership. They will have the expertise to diagnose the problem accurately and provide the appropriate repairs or adjustments to prevent further scraping on the rim.
