I followed all of the instruction to diagnose a failed sunroof and ultimately replaced the motor. I then followed the steps to re-initialize it which appeared to work as described, however the initialization does not seem to stick! After what seems like successful initialization the tilt feature will only open a small amount to the vent position. During initialization procedure it opens the full amount. Any idea what could be wrong?

Good afternoon,

One thing that could cause this issue is loss of memory once you initialize the module.

I attached 2 diagrams and there are 2 fuses for the module. Make sure they have power on both sides and that there is power to the module from both feeds.

If they are okay, then you have an internal failure in the module.

Thanks Roy.

I found and checked F8 - looks good.

F38 looks like a relay, could not find fuse for that. not sure how to verify if that is good or bad?

Thanks

It is a fuse. It is on the body control module or the GEM module.

It is under the dash left side.

Do you have power on both sides with the key on?

If you do, there is a good chance it is the issue.
