Cam sensor tells the computer where your cam is in it's rotation Exhaust or intake. Is there a mark on the cam sensor wheel or reluctor to indicate this.

For example on a crank position sensor the reluctor wheel has a missing teeth to indicate when the cylinder is approaching top dead center, does a cam sensor reluctor wheel have the same type of marking to indicate when its on exhaust or Intake. On either types SOHC and DOHC.

It will either have some kind of reference spot or will go in accordance with where the crank is, then use its wheel to correlate the two, by using the crank as a baseline. Most of these things are programmed into the software for the sensor to recognize position accroding to the feedback from the sensor
