Hi there,

This is not all that hard just a little tight thats all, best to use 3/8 drive and a magnetic plug socket, a good tip is to coat the threads with a little coper spray this will stop them binding up, always start the plugs in by hand and finish off with the socket and ratchet, check out the availability of iridium plugs, these are good for 100,000 Kms and give better performance.

I would def do it yourself, especially if you are slightly familiar with working on cars. We just did ours last week and it didn't take long at all and wasn't hard to figure out. Good luck
