How do I replace the driver's side window motor and regulator. I have had the problem checked by a dealer to confirm the problem, but I really don't want to pony up the $700 they want to fix the problem when I can get a used motor for 50 bucks. My chilton repair book is not helpful. Can you give me step by step instructions? Thanks

Hi therabbi,

Thank you for the donation.

Sorry to say that our database does not have the step by step instructuin for the removal and installation so you would have to refer to the diagram while I explain as best as I can.

Remove door switches and panel.
Wiind down window glass to enable you to remove the 2 holding bolts of the glass. If window glass is stuck closed and not able to be operated, you would have to remove the bolts holding the slider assy to enable the door glass to be lowered.
After disconnecting the door glass, slide it out of drro to enable you easy access while disconnecting the motor and slider assy.

Reverse order of installation.
Ensure door glass slides smoothly before installation of it onto the slider assy.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Seems the notification process fouled up again.

To remove the door panels, you would have to remove any screws holding the panel, look out for hidden screws under any plastic covers, and pry the panel off, it is clipped on in most places along the perimeter of the panle.

The door switch should come out if pried with a scraper, it is clipped on.
