Hi! My parents car is leaking fluid from the metal line attached to the rack & pinion system. One line currently drips when car is running & wheels turned (it's rusted in a section) The other line has rust on the opposite section but currently is not leaking. I have 2 questions.1). Can I cut the bad metal sections out and replace with high-pressure fuel injection type rubber hose. 2). If metal lines do in fact need to be replaced, how do you access the ends up behind the rack system, there appears to be no good way to get at them. And also, where do you purchase these specific lines. Thanks a bunch! Gary

HI there,

You will not be able to cut and replace this line, the rack will have to be taken out and repaired, you may be able to order the pipe via a dealer or a steering rack re-manufacturer.
