My truck was at the garage getting the front strut replaced. When I picked it up and was driving down the road, there was a loud humming noise coming from that same wheel. I took the truck back to be checked and I’m told the wheel bearing is bad and it would be $842 to have it replaced. This noise was not there before the truck went in for the strut replacement. Could something have happened while replacing the strut to cause the wheel bearing to need replaced? As far as I’m aware, they did not do a wheel alignment after the strut replacement.

If the center hub nut is over torqued, bearing failure will occur. Not saying this is what happened, just giving an example of what I have seen happen in my 25 yrs in the Ford dealer world.
