I had the keys lost someone decided to try to break the ignition causing us to have to replace the entire steering column the new/used column came from a 1998 Ford Ranger not for sure about the PATS system in it, but I do know that I have all the original parts and components from the 1999 Ranger still. So question is do I need to replace all those parts from the original column in the new column that we changed out to make the Pat system work on the truck for it to start? I have had a locksmith here to do reprogramming and it did not work. I used the original halo transceiver front the 1999 truck just have the PCM still to switch out right? Help please need this truck running badly.

You will need to use the same key if you do not want to reprogram the PATs system you can take the new tumbler to a locksmith and he can make the old key work with the different tumbler.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
