Steering Column/ignition Switch replacement?

Would I have to take my car to the dealership to have whatever all this mess consists of fixed? I do not have my key because my car was stolen and when I got it back some idiot said he could fix it so got me a new switch and couldn’t get it to turn and drilled out.

How damaged is the column? Can you please upload an image? If the ignition switch case has been damaged you will need a new one, I would get the key and tumbler for the dealer because they can code it for you before installation. I have seen people call a mobile locksmith which should cost about $250.00. Here is how to change out the ignition switch lock and the ignition switch lock case so you can see what needs to be done. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.

Sorry for the delay, oh boy, that is damaged. You can dissemble the column and replace the parts as in the images above or you might be best to get a replacement from the wrecking yard. Search Google for one in your area and then you will need to get a mobile locksmith to rekey it for you. Thanks for the images, it helps us see what's going on. If you need any help I can walk you through it, just upload another image of the problem. Here is how to remove the column. Disconnect the battery first. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
