Okay, so I have done the first part and pushed the porcelain down. Step 2 stuck the guide in the hole and the extractor in the hole. Now the extractor does look like it grabbed the first two threads but can't get it to do anything else. I was being easy but now I cannot get it to grab at all. How can I get it out of here?

I am not sure I understand what is happening. The spark plug broke and you were able to get the porcelain part out but now you cannot get the threads out?

If this is the case, then you need to use the spark plug socket and just loosen it completely but the rubber o-ring in the socket will not be able to grab the plug because that holds the tip which is not there.

Once the plug is completely loose then you just use a magnet to pull out the metal part.

If I am not understanding the issue, please get some pictures of what you are dealing with and we can go from there.

Thanks

Okay, so the bottom part of the spark plug is still in the head. I used the lisle 65600 tool. And did step 1 and pushed the porcelain down. Step 2 is to put the guide in the hole and use the extractor. I can not get the extractor to bite in and do the pull. I did like all the YouTube videos said to do and push the porcelain down till it bottoms out. I just cannot get the extractor to bite on to pull. It's like the extractor is a little small or something!

Oh. Got it. I didn't pick up on that so thank you for mentioning that tool. This is a 3V with the porcelain bottom part on the plugs.

When you use the first part of the tool, you push the porcelain down out of the way. Then you use the second part but make sure you are turning it to the left as that tool has left hand threads on it.

If you turn it to the right, it will not grab which is what it sounds like yours is doing.

Yes, I know it's a left-handed thread. I am turning it counterclockwise. Sine I cannot get it to bite on what would you suggest doing.

Unfortunately, there are not many options past using this tool. The only other option is to remove the head and extract it with the head on a bench.

Clearly that is not the best thing we should keep trying with this tool. The only two things that I have seen give trouble using this is when you are not turning left. Or the first part of the tool that pushes the porcelain down does not push it down far enough.

Did you run that all the way down to its full travel so that you push the porcelain all the way out of the way? It will make noise when pushing it out of the way so that is okay. Keep cranking on it until it completely bottoms out.

Then when you are using the extraction part of the tool, make sure the nut with the plastic washer is all the to the top of the threads. Otherwise, it will stop the extraction portion of it before it touches the porcelain.

Then when you are tightening that nut, it is left hand thread as well.

I included some pictures to illustrate what I am talking about.

It appears as you may have missed a step. Here is a link on how to use the tool you are using to extract the broken plug. I normally used a carburetor cleaner to break down the carbon.

There is the link. Watch the video and hopefully the instructions are clearer than the tools instructions. Let us know if it helps you.
