The RSC indicator and alarm came on suddenly. I went off the first couple times after shutting off the truck, but now stays on. I see that this could be a very complicated fix for mechanics to diagnose. I brought it to a mechanic and was told the following fault codes came up: C1277, B1342, B1318, U0140, B1600, B1602. After changing (I think) the trans fluid and a system reset and paying $100. I drove away with nothing fixed. Just the recommendation I bring it back - they didn't have the time - for further analysis. I'm very leery about bringing it anywhere at this point! Any advise would be appreciated.

Check battery for condition including load test. Most places do for free like tire stores auto parts etc. A poor condition battery will set off false codes. The reset of those are body module problems but a lot of times it's abattery problem or maybe charging as well. Even after fixing they will need to remove the codes with a scanner.

It may but you really need a scanner to remove the codes if it's the battery. Maybe where you took it unless it's a dealer will do it for minimal charge.
