Hi, well I still have the problem with vehicle not starting, I replaced the ignition door lock and ignition cylinder and immobilizer and it was from another vehicle. Also the ECU has been changed.

Hi Jeeps200,

Forgive me because I am coming in on just the information you provided in this post. It was a new post so if I tell you something that you have already done, please just give me the history on what I am missing.

You said you changed the immobilizer from another vehicle. Do you have both keys from this immobilizer? I don't think they are VIN specific meaning you should be able to put this into another vehicle but if you do not have both keys that came with it then you cannot program any additional keys without a DRB.

I attached some information about this system. Please let me know if I am missing anything but based on the info you provided, your no start is due to the keys being shut out. I am assuming you don't have the keys so unfortunately, you are going to need a DRB.

Thanks

Kenny

So I have both keys that came with the immobilizer and ignition. I changed the ECU in the Jeep so it is not the original. How do I get the keys to be recognized to start the vehicle?

Got it. This system requires the PCM to house the secret key data as a back up in the event that the SKIM is replaced. This requires you to input the PIN so that the PCM and SKIM share the same information. The SKIM and PCM do a "secret handshake" behind the scenes of every start and if they don't match info then it prevents the start. That is basically where you are right now.

If you have the PIN for the current SKIM and two keys, then you need to use the DRB and transfer that info to the new PCM so that they can achieve this "handshake." See the attached for more detail.

I know that is not what you wanted to hear but unfortunately it is unavoidable, you must use a DRB or an equivalent tool.
