I can be sitting still in my vehicle and my sensors on either side of my car will start going crazy as if I’m too close going to hit something. Also the hatchback will open but then when the button is pushed it either will not close and I have to close it manually or it will close yet I have an error message on my dashboard telling me lift-gate ajar. All these issues were supposed to be fixed but I just had to drop it off at the shop again this morning for these same issues.

What parts have they replaced? And what diagnostics have been done?

They have replaced quite a bit, I know the front bumper and grill and a headlight as well I believe. I’m not sure what exact diagnostic test has been run. Once I get my car back from the shop I can get all the reports out my glove box to update.

Just to give you an example of the procedure necessary when testing the active park assist sensors here is the procedure: Azimuth System Check
Check
Note: Car shown, trucks are similar.
Turn the ignition ON, engine OFF.

Set the parking brake on.
For automatic transmission place the selector lever in DRIVE (D). For manual transmission place the gearshift lever in first gear.
Place the test objects in position shown in the diagram. Refer to specifications in this section.
Monitor the suspect active park assist sensor Parameter Identifications (PIDs) to verify the PAM detects the objects when placed within the specified locations and record the distances.
Confirm the recorded distances are within the specification ranges.
If the active park assist system does not detect the objects, refer to diagnosis and testing in this section. This should be done when diagnosing the active park assist sensors, but often times does not get done because it takes time.
