I just purchased this vehicle last week. I knew the transmission was not working when I bought it. It felt like it was low on transmission fluid so as soon as I bought it I towed to great Canadian Oil Change and had them fill it with the correct CVT fluid I bought from the GM dealer. It took four liters. I started it up and took it for a drive. It was working but would not go faster than forty km. I drove back home and left it running for twenty minutes because it was cold and the battery was weak. My dad came over to check it over and I tried driving again. But engine just revs up and felt like it was in neutral. So we towed it to the shop and scanned it. P0606, P0700 and P1758 codes showed up. Can start the car it will go into reverse and drive for thirty seconds then stops moving completely. I can shut it off start it up and will go again for thirty seconds then quit moving. Can you please help me need a family vehicle.

I am sorry I have no good news. Most likely you have a bad transmission side cover that includes the two sheaves with the belt. A pressure test would have to be done to make sure which requires a transmission pressure gauge that goes up way higher than a normal one. Plus a scan tool that can control the pressure solenoid. It is usually the pump valve body or the side cover. Most of the time it's the side cover. I am a factory trained Saturn Vue tech. I have repaired a lot of those transmissions, they were never a good transmission. Those transmissions fail all the time. There was one vue I remember that the transmission was fixed like three times and replaced twice on the same Vue. Also, trying to find parts is very difficult as well.
