2002 Saturn SL2 Fan not shutting off

Once every couple of weeks, the engine fan comes on and doesn't shut off, even if I turn the car off and then back on.I have a driving job and am running the car approx 4 hrs or so at a time. Today, the fan was on the entire time the car was running. Because this happens only occasionally, I'm wondering if there is some component that might be "sticking", causing this?

Suspect faulty cooling fan relay. If the relay sticks then it will keep the circuit closed which will allow the fan to run constantly.
