2001 Saturn SL2 Fob is broken?

I can't get into my car because the car doesn't react when I press the buttons on the keyless entry remote. I replaced the battery today and tried again and it still isn't responding. Do I need to replace the fob or is there a way I can program it? Perhaps the battery didn't work?

Pop your remote apart again take the circuit board out and look at the connector's on the board where the button's touch it if there is black stuff clean it up with a tissue then do the same to the button's that touch the board. Then put it back together and try it let me know what you find.

Jush hold the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time for like 10 seconds. I did this with mine, and it set off the alarm, and then the Fab worked fine after that.
