Noises problem
2001 Saturn SL2 Automatic

Car is making sounds of scratching metal going forward, not in reverse.

So is the noise coming from the front?If so I would inspect the front brake's.

I would inspect your front brake's sound's like there worn out and the brake sensor is rubbing.
