the car acted like it was flooded and after pumping the pedal then holding it down it would start then one day of this the wires to the starter started to smoke then nothing the starter didn't even click

Sounds like you have two problems so what wire's started smoking?

there was (that looked like to me) 2 small gauge wires that led to the starter that started to smoke. I dont think it was the ground wire

There's a purple trigger wire to the solenoid on the starter.I would take the starter out and have it tested most likely it's the starter smoking the wire.
