1998 Saturn SL2 computer would not hold history

Every time I take it to the emmisions testing they say that I need to drive it another 350 miles because it does not hold the history on the engine computer. Does the computer has a always hot power source to hold the memory or is it built in the computer and I have no choice to replace it?

I need a little more details on what your talking about. Are you talking about the emission's monitor's?Like the o2 sensor egr etc?The more detail the better.A bad battery or disconnecting your battery will reset those monitor's.
