1996 Saturn SL2 transmisson slams into reverse from park

I have a 1996 saturn sl2 and when I put the transmisson into reverse from park it jerks and when I put it into drive it jerks when it shifts what would the problem be?

Google wolfman reverse slam cure, do exactly as it says and this should fix your problem. The slam is usually caused by a sludged up valve body. Do it as soon as possible because if you let it continue and it gets worse then you could be looking at a valve body replacement.
