The 'High Engine Coolant Temperature/Automatic Transaxle Fluid Temperature and Low Coolant Level' Warning light is FLASHING. According to owner handbook the coolant is low. I added coolant. Fluids are not leaking, that I can see. Car makes a 'whining' sound when I first start driving - like a belt slipping sound - for about a minute or so. What could the problem be? Is it safe to drive? Please HELP!

As far as ur low coolant I would look harder for the leak u could have a bad cap. Also look right below ur upper hose on ur radiator they crack on the tank right there also see if there is any coolant around ur water pump or dripping from ur frame rail under the car on the passenger side. Also ur coolant tank where u fill the coolant leaks they get a small leak in the tanks. If u add coolant make sure it's phosphate free or u can ruin ur engine. As far as ur squeling goes I would check ur belt tensior sounds like it weak and yes if it breaks all the way it will leave u stranded. Let me know what u find.
