1996 Saturn SL1 engine compatibility

I currently have a totaled 96 saturn sl1. If I bought a 98 saturn sl1 with no engine, would I be able to take the engine from the 96 saturn sl1 and put it in the 98 saturn sl1.

on the part where it asked me to choose my engine type I chose a random option. I dont know if it is a 4 cyl engine

p.S. If it is compatible, how much money do you think it would cost to get the new engine in, would anything need to be switched out
