Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Saturn SL1 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

what trouble shooting can be done for a 1996 saturn sl Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected. I have replaced the spark plugs, wires, and coil, I have had a mechanic check the fuel injectors they were good, but the check engine light keeps appearing and he seems to be stuck on what the cause could be. Please help won't pass smog. Thank you

Check the compression for no.4

Engine Misfiring can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.
