1994 Saturn SL1 Engine will not turn over

We bought the car 4 years ago and drove it for 2 summers. Then it sat for a whole year. I started the car about 2 months ago and it ran perfect for 2-3 weeks. I took it to a buddies house and did a couple donuts in reverse in the dirt and it just died. It has done nothing since then. We pushed it to the drive way and checked the oil. Turns out it was empty. We filled the oil (and just to make sure, cleaned out under the valve cover) and still nothing will happen. The battery is fine because the car "dings" when I turn the key to start it. But the engine does absolutely nothing. I dont know if I burned up the motor or locked up the engine. I hope you can help.
