I HAVE A SATURN SC2 AND IT MAKES A LOUD SQUELING SOUND AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT IS?

I need more details like when does the squeling happen while driving?While stopping?Is it come from the front back engine?

A 2002 sc 2 makes a whinning/squeking noise on the drivers side. Its isolated to the drivers side. We propped front end of the car removed wheels and engaged the car in drive. Noise occurs when there is a rotation on the drivers side. One shop thought it was transfer case another thought it was the rotors. Don't think its either? Whats could be causing this noise?

Well u don't have a transfer case so it can't be that.I would suspect the brakes are worn and the sensor on the pad is scraping the rotor. Also check ur metal splash gaurd that's right behind the rotor see if it's bent againist the rotor scraping on it. If u don't find anything there then put the wheels back on and spin both front wheels and put ur hand on each front coil spring one at a time comparing one from the other and see if u can feel a bad front wheel bearing if it's bad u will be able to feel it in the coil spring. Make sure the wheel is spining pretty good when u check it and the front of the car is up off the ground. Let me know what u find.
