Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Saturn SC2 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

Do you have any ideas as to where to start looking for problems for codes 0404 and 0405, Car seems to be running OK but the check engine light keeps coming back on. It is my neices' car and she is laid off and I'n trying to save her some money in repairs at a dealer. It has about 150,000 miles. On it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Hello,

Here are the code defs.

P0404 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance

P0405 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low

I would suggest taking the EGR Vavle off and try cleaning it before replacing. If that doesn't fix the problem then replace the EGR Valve.
