My trunk latch refuses to stay in the closed position.
I can manually move the latch to the closed position with my fingers. I then use the key to move the latch to the open position. However when I close the trunk lid it will not stay in the closed position.
I cannot see any visible damage to the mechanism.
Any ideas on how to repair other than complete replacement?

Hi there,

I would be thinking that the slam plate need adjusting up a tad, you may need to remove the trim around the latch to see the attach bolts, you may only need to move this a small amount for the lock to latch again.

Wartrip,
I have the same problem with my 95 sc2.
Basically what I do is ensure the latch is lined up. It is in my cae but still happens. I basically grab a hold of the latch mechanisim on the trunk lid, pull it towards me 2 or 3 times and then am able to close it as normal.
Try that. Hope this helps
