how can I safely flush cooling system of oily water in order to try to install a cyclinder head crack repair additive

Hi angelstouch,

Some oil dispersing detergent like dish washing liquid would do fine.

Remove thermostat and reconnect hoses. Top up wit water.

Run engine till it warms up with radiator cap off. Flush by disconnecting the upper radiator hose and inserting garden hose into radiator top and keep vehicle running till there are no more traces of oil or detergent.
