2001 Saturn L300 SPEEDOMETER

I have a 2000 saturn, about a week ago my friend fried a bunch of stuff by jumoing it wrong.I fixed fuses for everythiing that went out. Replaced all speedometer related fuses. But it still wont work. What do I gotta do too get this working, please be detailed in telling me what too check or buy.

I'd love to help, but might need a bit more info.
Did the cables get hooked up backwards?
Is there anything else that's not working correctly?
Can you get a diagnostic tool on there to see if your getting a speed sensor input to the dash itself?
