I noticed yesterday about 7:30 pm my battery had steam coming off it and then noticed the a very little liquid was on it. So I called AutoZone they said it might be cracked and should replace it. I have let it cool until now 6:42 am the nearest garage is about ten miles away but my house is about a mile maybe two away that has tools I need. Would it be safe to drive to either one?

Good morning,

If the battery is smoking, it is an indication that it is overheated from overcharging.

I would not drive it at all. Have it towed to a shop. They will have to replace the battery and then check the charging system to determine why the battery was overcharged.
