Hello,

When was the last time that your vehicle had the spark plugs changed? This is what I would do first. In the diagrams down below I have included a description of your vehicle's ignition system as well as the type of spark plugs along with the proper gap for them. I have also included a link below for you to go to.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-change-spark-plugs

Please go through these guides and get back to with how things turn out. There are other things to check as well, this is a good starting point.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello again,

Platinum spark plugs are intended to last a little longer than say copper spark plugs. There are even longer lasting spark plugs on the market, say like iridium, that are intended to last a really long time. My father's vehicle, a 2014 Hyundai Electra, for instance, came from the factory with a set of iridium spark plugs and they have never been changed. He has 130,000 miles on them with no drop in gas mileage or performance. But I can only recommend the spark plugs that originally came with your vehicle, but it is just a recommendation, you will ultimately be the one purchasing them.

Thanks,
Alex

I put in rc12ecc plugs. Seems to run okay, but check engine light came on and set p1762 code. Did I cause that? And what is it? I turned the key on three times and it said done, then the light went out. Will it come back on or should I have someone scan it? Thank you for the help.

I started it up this morning, the check lite came on. It ran like it had a miss. Turned it off, took the key out then started it back up and light stayed out, and ran good. Drove it about six miles and I was okay again. Thanks again for your help.

Today I drove it about 5 miles when I cranked it back up, it ran rough and then shut off. I put it in park started it again, it ran good again, it has done the same thing about every 50 miles I put in the factory plugs and it did run better. Thanks for your help.
