I got an ABS module off a 2014 Genesis and was told “the main computer will read the used part and see it has different mileage on it and it might possibly fry the other computers”. The mechanic said “the main computer will think your trying to roll back the odometer.” This sounds ridiculous, any validity to either statement? I also read somewhere you can take the computer off the old ABS module and put it on the new/used one to trick the main computer. Any help is much appreciated!

Good evening,

Wow, never heard that before.

You can use a used module but you have a 50/50 chance of it working.

It will not work correctly until you have it flashed to your car's VIN number. That will require an advanced scan tool to upload the correct flashing.

No, it will not damage any other modules at all.

I just checked and the 2013 and 2014 use the same part number module.
