Spark plug and ignition coil failed on valve three giving misfire code. After inspection, the ignition coil melted the rubber boot bottom and coil. I was able to pull what was left of the ignition coil, but the spark plug is off center and looks like it needs to be replaced. Some fragments of porcelain are stuck between the spark plug and ignition well.

What is the best method to remove the bad spark plug without the porcelain fragments falling further into the cylinder? I've tried long pliers and was able to remove some larger pieces. I then tried to remove the spark plug using standard 5/8 socket and wrench, but it will not unscrew.

The spark plug moves around a little in the well if pushed with a screw driver. Can send pictures later of the current state and the blown ignition coil.

I have a new spark plug and ignition coil ready, but need to remove the broken plug first.

Hello,

I would get an air tank full of air or an air compressor or something to that effect and give a couple of shots of compressed air in the spark plug well. That should blow out any debris and porcelain pieces allowing you to get a spark plug socket on the damaged spark plug and remove it. Please get back to us with hoe everything turns out, or if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Alex
