I'm trying to replace the transmission range sensor. I got the nut and two allen bolts off but the switch itself won't slide off the shaft. Is there a secret, it should just come right off but doesn't? Thank you

Hello,
There is no special tricks to remove the range switch. It should just pull off.
I have attached the replacement procedure below. It shows in which order the components should be removed.
Thanks very much for this. The only thing I did different than these instructions were I left it in park. Do you think that would prevent the switch from sliding off?

It could bind the switch. But for the most part it should come off.
Were you able to get it out?

Haven't had an opportunity to get back to that but I will let you know how I make out.
Thanks for everything you have done. Regards, Gary
