I had Bank One sensor 2 code come up on my car and Link one downstream catalytic converter code come up. I replaced both of them check engine light went out. Drove about 50 miles and then I had two more codes come up po430 which wasn't there before and po497 which wasn't there before. So my question is, can the po497 the purge flow valve can that also cause the code for po430 to come up?

Hi,

It's possible because a leak at the purge valve can cause a lean fuel mixture which is offset by the computer trying to compensate (adding fuel).

Here is what I suggest. Before replacing the converter, let's get the purge valve taken care of, clear the codes, and see if the P0430 returns.

If you look below, it is the diagnostics for the P0497. It requires a scan tool that can command systems on and off. Additionally, a vacuum pump will be needed. Oftentimes, a parts store will lend you one.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
