I noticed a small leak in the return line on the power steering pump and it’s been about a week and the power steering fluid is now half full. So I need to know what kind of power steering fluid 006 Ford focus takes.

Hi Stacie,

For the power steering fluid in that year and model Ford specifies Mercon ATF.

This vehicle would require Mercon V ATF fluid for the power steering system.

Per Ford: MERCON(R) ATF REPLACED BY MERCON(R) V AS A SERVICE FLUID FOR FORD FOCUS 2000-2007 POWER STEERING SYSTEMS 01/22/07.
