Hit the throttle pretty hard to get out of the mud and after that no power steering?

I replaced my power steering pump a couple months ago and the other night I about got stuck out in a pasture and I had to hit the throttle pretty hard to get out of the mud and after that no power steering. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you have a defective pump, can you hear the noise of the engine change when you steering the wheel? If not, I would say the pump is bad. Here is a guide to help and I have included how to change the pump out in case you need it:
