Engine Power loss

Sometimes after quick acceleration or a quick change down of gears to over take a car it goes flat, but if I cut the engine and start it again with the key it picks back up again. Plus every time I get out of the car I am getting an electric shock from the door or the roof wherever I place my hand or arm first.

Hey GILLYP1986,

This is a good one, getting shocked must be weird. I would start with the alternator, it sounds like one of the diodes has gone out, please test for ac voltage at the battery, here is a guide that will help you.
