Codes U0073 and U0101

The gear changes are really clunky, it revs high when at a complete stop and gets stuck in third going on the highway. Problem stops when the car is turned off and when turned back on again engine comes on. Coming up with codes u0073 and u0101, both saying there are problems with the control module and communication is failing. Used to go a while in between this happening before it would do it again but now can barely go a week without it happening.

U codes are as you say communication codes. Check that the plug on the transmission is clean and tight and that there are no loose or corroded pins. Also, check for the same at the TCM, check with your dealer for and relevant TSB's (technical service bulletins)as this may be a known problem with a ready fix, worst case is a failed TCM but this would be a last case option.
