I have been to five mechanics and paid 60 bucks so far trying to get my car fixed. It will not start from the ignition but will start with direct contact to the bolts on the starter with a screw driver. I have had all wires tightened 30 bux had one of the connections to starter completly reconnected 10 bux had someone test the starter 20 bux. And its fine. Replaced the relay switch with one from salvage, nothing, replaced some cap that was behind the starter dunno the name of but it cost 130 bux. Made another key to see if the key was the problem as well and that didnt fix it. Its back to all its original parts but still not working. I took it to two mechanics that wont tell me the problem which I understand y but one is charging 50/hr one 75/hr and I being a 26 year old female dont want to be taken advantage of.

Hello, did you try cranking in neutral? With the key in the crank position, the purple wire at the starter solenoid should be hot, is it?

We tried that and the purple wire and its connection are hot. Thanks for replying I actually sent it to the mechanic this morning. They are supposed to be calling me after the first 75$ hour to tell me what it is n how much time and money its going to cost me. Its an alternator and starter shop so if they cant figure it out I give up on it;)
