I can not remove the bolt holding the lower crankshaft sprocket that the timeing belt goes over. I am trying to remove the water pump and I am stuck at this point. Is the bolt holding the crankshaft sproket right or left thread?I am afraid of heat due to location. Is there a trick?

You turn the crankshaft pulley center bolt to the left to loosen it

Either you use an impact or a long breaker bar brace it properly follow the rotation direction and crank engine over-or go thru the inspection plate and block the flexplate from turning-
