I have a 1990 2.0L. Several years ago my Sunbird was running very badly with very low power and knocking loudly. I knew the cam was worn badly(prior owners lack of maintanence ). Early this year I put a new cam and followers in the head. I had zip tied the timing belt
in several places so it could not move.
When I reassembled it I turned the cam so the marks lined up and the cam gear went right on. I put the dist. Back the same and the car started right up but sounded just like it did before. It had no power and would die after awhile same as before. The TBI floods at times and other times not. It will start right up after sitting a month or more but is the same. Coded for prom, changed, coded electronic control faulty, changed module, no difference, changed computer, no change. Timing was about 2' off with a light.
I work on old cars, so easy, and this one has got me ticked off to no end, any ideas.

Could be a shorting injector causing it. Any other codes since the ecm and module change? When it dies, does it start right back up? If not, what is missing at that time, spark, fuel, both?
