1995 Pontiac GrandAm Check Engine Light.

I recently purchased a 1995 Pontiac GrandAm and the check engine light comes on when I accel then let off the gas. What would cause this also how do I check the codes? The connector looks like OBD1 but doesnt have the same pin outs. Also any clues how to change the 3 spark plugs in the rear side of the motor?

You need a GM-1 scanner. As for the rear plugs, sometimes the dog-bone mount on the front of the car has a seperate ear to rock and hold the engine forward. If it doesnt then get creative
