Depends on how well the vehicle was maintained.

With the technology out there for oils and lubricants. People beign more aware to having to do regular maitnenece on the vehicle vehicles are lasting a long time.

Also all the additives for the fuel and other automotive parts.

A good way to see if your engien is shot is do a cylinder compression test.
